The Schengen area consists of 26 (twenty six) European countries that abolish the passport and entry visa regime among member countries. This area serves as a common union for tourism, based on a constant visa policy.

The Schengen Area has 26 (twenty six) member states, 22 (twenty two) of which fully implement the Schengen Aquis, and 04 (four) of them – members of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), implement Schengen Aquis through Specific Agreements related to the Schengen Agreement.
The following countries are associated members of the Schengen Area but are not members of the European Union: Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland.
A Schengen Visa is the document issued by the appropriate authorities to the interested party for visiting/travelling to and within the Schengen Area.
There are 3 types of Schengen visa: Uniform Schengen Visas (USV), Limited Territorial Validity Visas (LTV), National Visas.
The Schengen residence permit is a residence permit issued by a competent authority of the Schengen Area, allowing a foreign national to reside in a country for a fixed or indefinite length of time. These may be permits for temporary residency, or permanent residency.
